What’s your Story from the Mohawk Valley? Contest Rules

Submit a 400-words or less essay outlining your history story.  It could be an event that happened to you, a relative or ancestor or an event you have heard about.  Stories must be non-fiction and deal with Montgomery, Fulton and Schoharie counties in New York State.  You may seek help from relatives and friends in writing your essay.  Only one entry per person is allowed.  Please include your name, address, phone number and email with your entry.

Entry deadline is February 15, 2012.  Winners will be announced March 15, 2012 or as soon as possible.  Contest entrants will be notified by mail or email when winners are determined.

Entries will be judged on content, writing and on following contest rules.  Decisions made by Bob Cudmore or other judges in the contest are final.  By entering the contest, you are giving Bob Cudmore permission to use your story in a newspaper column and/or future book. 

First prize is $100. Second prize is $75, third prize is $50 and fourth prize is $25.  Each of the top five entries will receive one free copy each of Bob Cudmore’s “Stories from the Mohawk Valley” and Bob’s humor book “You Can’t Go Wrong.”  Nero Publishing reserves the right to solicit other prizes which may be awarded to winning contestants.
